Building an ecosystem for innovation and entrepreneurship around the University of Twente

Economic prosperity in our western countries needs innovation as a driver. A high added value is neededto sustain a relatively high standard of living. Universities, being a rich source of talent and knowledge,play an increasingly important role in innovation and entrepreneurship. At the same time, this requiresa different way of cooperating between the university and its environment. Twente has an experience ofmore than 30 years in creating an ecosystem for innovation and entrepreneurship in the region, aroundthe university. The presentation will highlight the insights, challenges and results of that period.
